Nursing care facilities, hospitals, residential care facilities, and other medical health facilities are under the supervision of nursing and medical staff.
This occupation provides basic patient care under the direction of nursing and medical staff. Routine tasks include taking and recording a patient’s pulse, temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure. Other tasks may include measuring food and liquid intake and output and reporting changes to the medical staff. Assistance may also be required to answer patients’ calls for assistance, take messages, serve meals, and assist with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
This training course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to pass the State Certification Test and become employed as a Certified Nurse Assistant.
This is a 210-hour course approved by the California State Department of Health and Education. Classes consist of theory, laboratory practice, and hospital experience.
