Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes are designed for adults who are proficient in English but want to improve their reading, math, or writing skills. This course serves as a skill-building class to assist in obtaining a high school diploma or a HiSet certification (high school equivalency). It also aids students in increasing their CASAS Reading and Math scores. In addition, it serves as a preparation course and basic skills improvement for some Career and Technical Education careers, and as a review course to assist students with employment or military exams. ABE combines instructional-based learning techniques with supportive educational software such as Aztec and Lexia Core 5.
Madera Unified is where students are challenged to broaden their vision, inspired by meaningful opportunities and strive for authentic achievements.
