Enrollment Procedure:
Individuals who wish to enroll at Madera Adult School (MAS), will need to register in person at our MAS Office during the allotted registration times listed on our website’s homepage. You will need to fill out a registration packet.
After registering at the MAS Office, you will be issued a date and time for a CASAS test assessment. If you miss your scheduled CASAS testing appointment, you will need to reschedule for another. Space and testing dates are limited in our Assesment Room so please be sure to show up for your appointment. Also, please be 15 minutes early to your CASAS testing appointment as the test will begin at the scheduled time. Remember to bring a valid ID with you. No items will be allowed in the Assesment Room. Individuals will not be enrolled in classes until they are CASAS tested. MAS uses the CASAS test scores to assess students reading and math skills in order to enroll them in the appropriate classes so it is important to do your best.
Note: For individuals enrolling in the High School Diploma Program, after CASAS testing, you will be given a scheduled appointment to meet with a MAS Staff member to evaluate your transcripts in order to assess the number of remaining credits required for graduation and to enroll you in HSD classes. If you do not show up for your appointment, you will not be enrolled in classes and a new appointment will need to be scheduled. These appointments are extremely limited so it is important that you keep your scheduled meeting time with our staff member. Please bring with you an official transcript from your last high school of attendance. In addition, if you score lower than a 236 on your CASAS test, then you will be required to enroll in an ABE course to improve basic reading and math skills.
