Este curso de formación está diseñado para proporcionar a los estudiantes los conocimientos y habilidades para pasar la Prueba de Certificación Estatal y ser empleados como EMT 1A.

Descripción del curso

Los técnicos médicos de emergencia (EMT) son trabajadores médicos calificados que responden a emergencias médicas para los heridos y enfermos. Son enviados a emergencias por despachadores especialmente capacitados que mantienen contacto por radio o los envían a profesionales médicos para obtener instrucciones continuas. Siguiendo las instrucciones, examinan a las víctimas para determinar la naturaleza y el alcance de la lesión o enfermedad y administran primeros auxilios y soporte vital básico de emergencia (BLS), como administrar oxígeno y hacer reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP). Continúan el tratamiento de soporte vital básico durante el transporte a los hospitales. Ayudan al personal de la sala de emergencias a realizar el tratamiento previo a la admisión y obtener historiales médicos.

Los técnicos de emergencias médicas están capacitados en operaciones y procedimientos de ambulancia. Conducen vehículos de emergencia con comunicación especial y equipo médico, revisan los vehículos diariamente y los mantienen abastecidos con suministros médicos.

Requisitos
  • Debe tener al menos 18 años de edad
  • Licencia de conducir válida de California
  • Buen juicio
  • Examen físico reciente
  • Uniforme
  • Huellas digitales
  • El programa de certificación EMT requiere asistencia durante todo el semestre.
  • Se requiere una prueba previa de lectura antes de ingresar a los cursos de EMT.
REQUISITOS ADICIONALES:
  • Los puestos de EMT requieren una licencia estatal.
  • Educación continua cada dos años para mantener la certificación o licencia estatal
